Buford Presbyterian congregation is always looking for ways to help out. Whatever your talent, however you would like to give back, Buford Presbyterian can use your help in God’s community. See below for a description of some of the many missions we participate in here at BPC.
Global Missions
Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources with the aim to end hunger by 2030.
Over the last three years, BPC has packed over 60,200 meals during our annual events!
National Missions
Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. We conduct quarterly blood drives with Life South. In past years, BPC has donated an average of 14 pints of blood per event, for a total of 56 pints per year, and 168 pints of blood over the last three years.
Local Missions
Buford Presbyterian Church collects a monthly PATH offering in response to hunger in our community. 75% of this offering goes direct to the local community efforts and the remainder to Presbytery hunger projects.
Red Barrell
BPC is a major partner and contributor to the North Gwinnett Co-Op, located in Buford, GA. Our Red Barrel in the Narthex is a collection point for all to bring canned good & food donations every week.
Good News at Noon is a meal ministry hosting friends in our community 7 days a week. Buford Presbyterian Church prepares and serves Sunday lunch quarterly at the facility located in Gainesville, GA. Over the last three years, Buford Presbyterian Church has served over 500 meals to those less fortunate in the community.
Each year during the Christmas holiday, our congregation responds to the call of the North Gwinnett Co-Op to assist with donating gifts for the less fortunate in our community. Annually we collect gifts for both adults and children in need.
The Clean Start Closet program collects items such as clothing, toiletries, and more to help those in need.
BPC collects various needed items for everyday use to the Willowwood Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Flowery Branch.
Prison Alliance's mission: Impacting God’s Kingdom by sharing the Gospel with the incarcerated and discipling them through correspondence Bible studies. BPC collects items such as new and gently used Bibles, Christian CDs and DVDs, and more.
Tiny Stitches
Tiny Stitches is a non-profit organization based in Gwinnett that provides sewn/knitted/crocheted items such as booties, caps, bibs, crib quilts, and more for babies in need.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are laypeople - Christian men and women who are trained to provide one to one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation, or separation. Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life. Their commonality? A passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need. They have gone through a year long training program that equips them to handle all kinds of situations. Congregational Care Ministries (CCM)
The mission of CCM is to support our pastors in congregational care. We are a ministry with a mission of outreach to members of the congregation. We have volunteers trained to visit folks in the hospital, a facility, or home. As our ministry grows, we hope to expand our services to offer transportation, respite for caregivers, and a prayer ministry.
