The belief in lifelong learning is the core of Buford Presbyterian’s education programs. We offer a variety of options for all ages.

  • Adult Education

    Kerygma Class: Rob Keeney and others lead this discussion format, adult oriented Sunday School class. The class meets on Sundays in the Garden View Room from 9:45 - 10:30 a.m. Click here to learn more about Kerygma.


    Pastors' Class: Pastor Rix leads an overview of the Bible, theology, and Presbyterian history. The class meets on Sundays in the transept of the Sanctuary at 9:45 a.m.


    Parent's Class: The Parent’s Class meets in the Parlor at 9:45 a.m. on Sundays. The class focuses on discussions of strengthening families.


    Welcome Class: The Welcome Class meets two or three times per year on Sundays for three weeks. This class allows members, visitors or those new to the church to learn about the Presbyterian faith in general and Buford Presbyterian specifically. This class serves as a vehicle by which those interested may join the church but is not a requirement for church membership.


    Wednesday Bible Study: Wednesday Morning Bible Study meets on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Garden View Room at the church. 

  • Youth Education

    Knowing that our youth are our rising leaders, Buford Presbyterian strives to provide knowledge, guidance and opportunities to grow spiritually and socially in an environment rich in respectful and trusting support. The following programs are provided:


    9:45-10:45 a.m. Sundays – Sunday School:

    • Sunday School Class for Middle & High School Youth in the High School Youth Room
    • Confirmation Class meets during the 8th grade year (or older) prior to the students becoming church members.

    Sundays (time varies) - Youth Group:

    • Youth Group (6th-12th grade) meets Sundays throughout the year for food, fellowship, and missions. Youth Group helps with church missions such as Rise Against Hunger and Operation Christmas Child. The group also take fun trips such as going to Six Flags or the Buford Corn Maze.
  • Children's Education

    Buford Presbyterian is blessed with a large and growing number of young families with children. We strive to provide developmentally appropriate programs that enable our children to learn about and experience the power, promise, and comfort of God’s love. The following programs are offered: 


    10:00-10:45 a.m. Sundays – Sunday School classes for ages Pre-K through Fifth Grade (following Children's Choir). Teachers work in teams and are provided with specific curriculum that focuses on Bible stories and lessons from the Old and New Testaments.


    Children younger than Pre-K age are invited to join our Nursery during the Sunday School hour and during our worship services.


    Vacation Bible School – Offered for one week each summer, Vacation Bible School (VBS) is an opportunity for children ages 3 through elementary school to make new friends and have wonderful adventures through games, crafts, music, and other fun activities. Bible themes are woven throughout the week. Registration is open to both church members and non-members.

  • Buford Presbyterian Weekday School (BPWS)

    Established in 1988, Buford Presbyterian Weekday School offers half-day early education preschool and kindergarten programs to children ages 12 months through six. This award-winning program provides an environment rich in personal, loving experiences that focuses on the development of the whole child; spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
